ELECTRICAL, INSTRUMENTATION & AUTOMATION

UPS & DC Systems

Maintains clean, uninterrupted power for control, safety, communication and critical instrumentation.

UPS & DC Systems

FUNCTION & CONTROL METHOD

Online double-conversion UPS and DC battery systems are sized from connected load, autonomy, redundancy, inrush and maintenance philosophy.

MAIN HARDWARE & SYSTEM BOUNDARY

UPS rectifier/inverter, static bypass, batteries, chargers, DC distribution, monitoring, isolation transformers and maintenance bypass.

CRITICAL DESIGN INPUTS

Approved P&IDs and control philosophy, process ranges and alarm/trip limits, hazardous-area classification, environmental conditions, I/O and load lists, availability/redundancy target, package interfaces, communication protocols, cybersecurity and client standards.

ENGINEERING DELIVERABLES

System architecture, instrument/equipment index, datasheets, I/O list, hook-ups, loop and wiring diagrams, cabinet/panel drawings, cable schedule, network drawings, control narratives, cause-and-effect, logic diagrams, graphics, test procedures and as-built backups.

FUNCTIONAL SAFETY, RELIABILITY & CYBERSECURITY

N+1 or parallel redundancy, battery-room ventilation, fire detection, earth fault, bypass transfer, autonomy alarms and periodic testing are defined.

TESTING, COMMISSIONING & APPLICATIONS

DCS, PLC, SIS/ESD, F&G, analyzers, telecom and critical switchgear controls. Load-bank and autonomy testing form part of SAT.
